River Park Neighborhood Association Spring General Meeting

The River Park Neighborhood Association (RPNA) is hosting its Spring General Meeting on Aril 7, 2018 beginning at 10am at the Caleb Greenwood School Multi-Purpose room.  This is one of two General Meetings the RPNA hosts each year.  At this year’s Spring Meeting, the RPNA has arranged for the City (including the Police Department), the County Park Rangers, and others, to give a presentation about the Two Rivers Trail Project and answer questions from River Park residents.

The RPNA is soliciting questions from River Park residents about the Two Rivers Trail Project.   Questions will be used by the City to design their presentation in a way that addresses as many questions as possible.  Questions that are not addressed by the City’s presentation will be asked by the moderator of the meeting and addressed to the panel for a response at the meeting.  The panel includes representatives of the City, the Sacramento Police Department, and the County Park Rangers. Please send questions to SacramentoRPNA@gmail.com.

It have read that Flood Control officials requested that the two rivers trail NOT be placed on top of the levee since that would compromise levee maintenance. Is this accurate and if so is this really legitimate since levee maintenance is only an occasional event and the levee trail could easily be closed for these intermittent maintenance needs.

Please note my support for the trail. I think increased bicycle infrastructure is good not just for River Park, but for the greater Sacramento Area. Infrastructure decreases car traffic, pollution, and congestion, and helps people be healthy.

Any chance the paving could stay on the levee crest in areas where the lower trail floods? During flooding, there are currently no paved routes downtown, and it would be nice to remedy this issue.

    Thanks Val, excellent point!

Will the Two Rivers Trail be an official extension of the American River Bike Trail? Or will it be maintained and patrolled as a separate entity?
